Community Advised Smoking Cessation Project: First Nations

Untitled design (89).jpg

First Nations communities have smoking rates up to two times higher than many Canadian communities. Commercial tobacco use can be linked with our difficult history and the routine use of tobacco in everyday life.

We understand that each community is different and has its own challenges and concerns. We know that a ‘one size fits all’ smoking cessation program does not work well. By learning about your community’s needs, we can work together to create smoking cessation programs that work for your community. We hope that through this project, members of First Nations communities in PEI and NS will participate in a survey or sharing circle to offer their opinion on what their communities need to help people quit smoking.
